Hello! My name is Silvia, and I am the founder and designer behind Sunny Rain Downloads™
The beginnings
Sunny Rain Downloads™ was established in 2014 as Sunny Rain Art™, originally offering a variety of eclectic printable art designs. Over 10,000 sales and many happy customers on an online marketplace encouraged me to open my own standalone store, where I decided to focus primarily on offering unique personalized watercolor map art keepsakes and bespoke event stationery.
Before pursuing a path in graphic art and design, I originally studied Geography. I’ve found a way to incorporate maps into my designs by creating this fun yet elegant watercolor travel-themed stationery line.
The process
My work has always been focused on celebrating color, and my absolute favorite medium is watercolor. It’s the part of the design process where I can take a break from the computer screen and enjoy working with paper, paint, and brush.
I create every watercolor map using handmade abstract watercolors that I professionally scan and incorporate into my graphics. I prefer not to use fake, digitally generated watercolors that lack the beautiful texture and spontaneous feel of authentic paint.
That said, technology plays an important role as well. I’m grateful to have developed skills in various graphic design software: it allows me, for example, to match the colors of my watercolor designs to your event palette, or to any color combination you choose for your personalized art print. You can also choose from a wide array of beautiful type styles to complement your theme. When implementing your custom preferences, I care deeply about every detail and strive to deliver the highest quality graphics.
I absolutely love creating one-of-a-kind pieces for once-in-a-lifetime moments and helping others celebrate life’s joyous occasions with a cherished keepsake. The symbolism
Sunny Rain is a symbolic expression of a rare and beautiful natural phenomenon - the rainbow. I chose it as a symbol of the positive energy I hope to share through my creations. It also serves as a meaningful metaphor: color is a vital element of visual art, and water is one of the essential components of watercolor painting.
